Bling Ring

Hi all.

I must apologies for the deadness of this blog. I have the predicament that I want to use it mostly for posting pictures and unfortunately when posting blogs on a mac (which is the computer I work on most), this option is unavailable.

Anyway, I thought I'd let you know that I got engaged about a month ago - 14 December to be exact - to my closest friend, Nick Martin.

I will post a few photos (when I can get to a PC) of Nick and I and the beautiful ring.

As for the big day, we have decided to be married in Monmouth (S. Wales), just over the border from Bristol, on 6th May this year.

Art Club

Art club met last night again, with most of the members missing (except Thom and I), but Nick came along to finish off a painting that we'd started months ago. Somethimes that's the best way of doing things I have found - start a piece of work, and if you're not happy with it or get sick of it, put it away for a few months and come back to it. Then a few hours later... hey presto...


(After being inspired by some work at Leeky Gallery, we bought an old print from a charity shop and had fun stenciling over it)

balloons

thirdly we went to the Bristol Balloon Fiesta. it was pretty beautiful so i took lots of photos, but none very interesting, so i'm not gonna bother posting them. i will however show you photos when i go up in a balloon some time in the next few weeks. yup, i won a free ride!! yippeeee!!

second, we painted. some friends and i turned my kitchen into a painting studio and got to work. it was so much fun, and i realised how much i love the smell of acrylic paint!! (click on the images to enlarge them)

lomography

Sorry it's been a while...work has taken over my life for the past few days, but I'm back - with more photos of joy! I got this amazing lomo-camera (which I've wanted for YEARS!) for my birthday this year (thank you Liz!) and just got the first film processed. Here are a few pics from it...

gigtastic

Yesterday there was this amazing event called 'Sunday Roast' at a favourite venue (Fleece & Firkin) in Bristol. It was a day of bands... 10 in total I think, with Underdown headlining! The boys put on an amazing show (their last for a while as they are hibernating to write lots of lovely new songs). I tried out my new digital camera on them and realised that it may take me a little while to figure out how to use it at indoor gigs events. Never-the-less, I ended up amusing myself with swirly shots of lights...

I realise that in the excitement of having my own space on the big world wide web, i have been posting lots of silly-ness and if I continue this way, I fear that this place could easily get filled up with too much junk. So from now on, I will post more of my own work.

kinder egg toys

These guys ALWAYS bring a smile and a giggle to my face. My favourite kinder surprises by far. My friend (and co-graphic designer) Liz and I have an extensive collection cluttering up her desk, but we've still got 2 more Mexicans to collect! So if you have the fortune of popping open your kinder egg to find one of these little fellas, please pass it my way!
